House night kaHua has come a long way in a short time since launching at two venues in the student central town of Loughborough.

The night, originally opening at Valkyries bar, the night played at Discoteca and had gigs in Derby and London's Soho!

Aimed at plugging a gap in the market, self-starting organisers brought together their own collective of interested bods to create the night.

It has already hosted DJs from around the country including spinners from DJ groups Subterfuge and Homegrown Music.

kaHua links up with local night Liquid this Friday.

Part of the promotion team and resident decks diva Ian Straker (aka DJ Strakes) brings you up-to-speed on the past and future at kaHua.

"We used to split the night over two venues, but we now focus on Discoteca. We found it easy just to focus on one venue.

"We are starting to attract a lot more DJ interest and we are starting to take the night on tour as well around one or two places.

"Some of the DJs we had down to kaHua really liked what we were doing and invited us us up to Derby to do our thing up there," says Ian.

kaHua returns on Friday 30 July as it teams up with local lads at Liquid to put on a free party at the MBC in Loughborough.

Strakes, Phil L, Steve G, Guy Incognito and PP Garcia will be on hand to provide the best in house on a night which has caught the eye.
