Exhilarating, educational, fun just a few words to describe the experience that is Conkers. Boring? Just like other exhibitions? Absolutely not!

Young, old, fit or not so fit. If you visit just one place in the Midlands make sure it's Conkers - a stunning indoor and outdoor activity centre guaranteed to blow away the cobwebs, test your knowledge and in some cases stamina!

Journey inside a Leaf at Conkers

With a vast array of eye-opening interactive displays from experiencing the sounds of the night to how recycled plastic bottles can be turned into fleece jackets, and much much more - this exhibition has something for everyone come rain or shine.

Whether you just want to wander around the numerous nature trails or lakeside walks, enjoy a quite picnic, participate in ranger-led activities or brave the assault course – the rope bridge was enough for me - Conkers has something for everyone.

There is a kids’ indoor play centre, workshops, music events, craft shops, even a mini train, the ‘Conkachoo’ which will take you from one waterside park to the other.

No steep paths to climb, unless you are feeling fit, just gentle trails and footpaths but if you aren’t quite so fleet of foot don’t worry, they’ve thought of that too and you can pre-book golf buggies for parties of 6/8 people – just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Families enjoy a day out

If you fancy a snack The Waterside Restaurant has a reasonably priced menu offering hot and cold food and drinks. If you want something more substantial then the newly opened (September 2003) Gallery Restaurant might be just the thing for you midway through the day to recharge the batteries!

It has a good menu, complete with a carvery option but it’s a bit light on vegetarian choices. Again very reasonably priced and with a licensed bar.

With so much to see and do and on a site that is continually going to change from month to month as trees and shrubs grow and wildlife becomes more prolific, this is an exhibition to visit again and again.
