The Heather Scarecrow Festival gets bigger each year thanks to the hard work of residents who create scarecrows to raise funds for village groups and organisations.

This year over 90 entries have already been submitted, promising to give the best show ever.

Villagers have put weeks into their crows. You can view the entries in person by spending some time in village and join in the fun on the Scarecrow Trail.

Many scarecrows are immediately recognisable. The cast includes characters such as Ozzie Scareborne, The Incredible Hulk and Scarey Potter.

You can vote for your best scarecrow in show on voting slips on the back of the Scarecrow Guide, available in all village outlets for £1.

During your time in Heather, you can enjoy a welcome drink and a slice of cake at the Scarecrow Tea Room.

You can browse around the craft stalls whilst the children busily colour in scarecrow pictures to take home or listen to the storyteller during the afternoons.

Parking is limited during this busy time so take advantage of parking facilities at St John’s Social Club on Ravenstone Road.
