April 27 2003 sees the inaugural Five Parks Charity Challenge - an annual event aimed at raising money for charities in Leicestershire.
The challenge involves a walk between five parks in north west Leicestershire and this year, the chosen charity is the Heartbeat Appeal.
The Heartbeat Appeal aims to raise as much money as possible to buy much needed heart equipment for Coalville Hospital.
The entire walk will take place on footpaths.
The walk, which is approximately 10 miles, will begin at Sence Valley Forest Park in Ibstock at 0930 GMT.
It will then visit Hugglescote Park, Coalville Park and Whitwick Park before finishing at Snibston Discovery Park.
There are prizes for the top five fundraisers. The walker who raises the most sponsorship will win a TV/DVD combination, with the next four walkers receiving vouchers donated by local stores and a selection of goodies.
