Junior Football match reports

Bramley Phoenix 2-1 Tingley Athletic

Report sent in by Darren Wood
Garforth League U11s, Supplementary Cup, Sunday 10 December 2006

Bramley did just enough to progress into the next round - this was a hard fought game played in difficult conditions.

Bramley started brightly and moved the ball around well - they were soon in front when Liam T collected a pass just outside the area and calmly slotted his shot under the advancing Tingley goalkeeper. Bramley had goalkeeper Nathan A to thank for keeping them in the lead when he a made a fantastic double save - but minutes later Tingley took advantage of some sloppy defending and scrambled home an equaliser.

In the second half both teams were evenly matched and the game could have swung either way. Bramley did well to defend a number of Tingley attacks. As the game looked like it was moving into extra time Sam E sprung the Tingley offside trap and rifled home his shot to take Bramley through to the next round.

Team: Nathan A, Callum T, Dean J, Sam E, Wayne P, Reece R, Adam T, Joe Q, Grant L, Liam T, Thomas J, Keith M.

Man of the Match: Liam T
