Junior Football match reports

Embsay Wolves 1-2 Stanningley Albion Reds

Report by Mick Serotsky
Craven Aire and Wharfedale League, U16s, Sunday 19 November 2006.

The Reds were on the road for the third week running this time at Embsay Wolves. With Macrae and Pearson missing the Reds had to play Wright and Wrigglesworth in goals, the game started brightly for the Reds creating three or four chances which were not taken. Embsay then scored against the run of play to lead 1-0. The Reds stormed straight back when the hardworking Jarman was fouled in the box. Up stepped Serotsky to make it 1-1.

The Reds continued to dominate the second half with man of the match Scherer outstanding in midfield pulling the strings. It was all one way and the Reds went on to make it 2-1 through Jarman and it stayed that way until full time.

A good win from the ever improving Reds taking seven points from a possible nine in the last three away games.

Team: Boldy, Carpenter, Jarman, Knight, Lambert, Powell, Scherer, Serotsky, Sorhaindo, Wrigglesworth, Wright
