Junior Football match reports

Bramley Phoenix 1-3 Horsforth St Margarets

Report sent in by Darren Wood
Garforth League, Under 11s Division 3, Sunday 19 November 2006.

Bramley started the game strongly and were soon moving the ball around well. Their early pressure paid off when they were awarded a penalty after Liam T was brought down in the box. Reece R took the spot kick and put the home team ahead. Horsforth soon put Bramley on the backfoot and stand in goalkeeper Sam E was at his best to keep Bramley in front. Eventually Horsforth got the break they were looking for and got their equalizer.

In the second half Bramley struggled to get their passing game together but battled well to keep the scores level. Both Dean J and Jake L had outstanding games in the Bramley defence. Horsforth kept up the pressure and eventually took the lead. Even at 2-1 down Bramley kept working hard but couldn't find their way through the Horsforth defence. Bramley's luck was summed up in the closing minutes when Dean J put through his own net whilst trying to clear a Horsforth cross.

Bramley Team: Sam E, Dean J, Jake L, Jack A, Callum T, Joe Q, Reece R, Keith M, Grant L, Liam T, Tom Jenkins, Wayne P.

Bramley Man of the match: Jake L
