Rothwell Juniors 4-1 Thornes Juniors In their final game of the season Rothwell produced a memorable close to the season. The front pairing of Travis and man of the match Lewis He were quickly in their stride with both going close early on. From a Lewis He cross Travis pounced quickly to fire home the opening goal. Despite an early reply by the opposition Rothwell's midfield of Sam A and Lewis Hi soon brought the game back into their control. From a corner Aaron came close hitting the outside of the post with a thunderous drive. Aaron then became provider as from his precise pass Lewis He ran on and shot home low past the keeper. The second half saw Thornes surge forward but the solid defence of Tom and James kept them at bay. Rothwell were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area and Sam A was unlucky to curl the ball just outside the post. This was soon followed by Lewis Hi running the length of the pitch only to shoot wide from his fine individual effort. Sam A and William joined in with long shots been well saved by the Thornes keeper. From another strong run by Lewis Hi Travis hit a pin point cross for Lewis He to tap in the easiest of his goals this season. Keeper Sam M was called upon to make a fine double save late on to keep the score line safe before, with the very last kick of not only the game but the season, top scorer Aaron latched on to a deflected Travis shot and added a fourth goal.
