Get yourself a penpal

Get yourself an email or postal penpal from a foreign-speaking country. You can help them improve their English and they help you with the language you're learning. Communicating with your new friend forces you to keep up-to-date with the language.

Having taken almost 58 yrs to come to terms with the English language, I find it helps to read a good tourist/guide book and immerse yourself in the customs and culture of your adopted language.

I totally agree, I never made such progress with my English since I've got some friends in the UK to speak with.
My grammar is still to improve and I have some more words to memorize but I'm now really confident with my English.
You can find loads of websites about penpals with google.
