Tea-houses
Tea-houses are still very popular. People go to the tea-house not just to drink tea, but also to socialise. In Beijing, the most famous tea house is called Lao She tea-house. You can have snacks there while watching the Peking Opera on stage. Traditionally, alcoholic drinks were taken only at meal times. Now more and more young people go to the bar for a pint! The word jiǔ indicates an alcoholic drink.
