| | | The children at St Veronica's School |
| | It's not just the grown-ups that have been rallying round to help Tsunami sufferers. Local schoolchildren have been busy filling Aquaboxes after hearing an appeal on BBC Radio Lancashire. The blue plastic boxes have a built-in water-purifying kit and are filled with useful items before being sent off to people affected by disasters. |
 | "On hearing about the terrible disaster in South-East Asia, the children of St Veronica's School have been busy offering help.
The school heard about the aquabox scheme from Radio Lancashire and managed to obtain sponsors to purchase seven boxes. Sponsors included the local golf club, supper club, parents and friends of the school.
Children, parents and staff then worked hard to fill the seven boxes with suggested 'essential items'. These included items such as: soap, toothpaste, a bucket, a spade, baby clothes, cups, cutlery, nails, screws.
The children at St Veronica's are delighted to think that their items are now being used by people hit by the terrible disaster." Mrs Marco, Headteacher, St Veronica's RC Primary School, Helmshore
