 | | A Junior Ranger watched by a Junior Health and Safety Supervisor! |
Junior Rangers have been busy at Hurst Grange Park in Penwortham with South Ribble Senior Ranger, Paul Creighton. The group of 7 to 11 year olds have all sorts of conservation activities to keep them busy, from making birdboxes, clearing woodland and doing surveys. They're planning on going on some great days out as well - going to places like Martin Mere and Leighton Moss.
There's another group of Junior Rangers at Yarrow Valley Country Park near Chorley. The youngsters there are aged between 8 and 16 and each weekend they'll be helping the Countryside Ranger team with day to day activities at Yarrow Valley. | | Concentrate... mind your thumb... |
Chorley Councillor Cath Hoyle says " It's a chance for young people to get really involved in the running of the Park and we're hoping to produce some excellent rangers for the future."
