Semihere from Blackburn - eclectic, different and loving it!

Why not tell us all about your unsigned band?

Your band name?
Semihere

Where are you from?
Blackburn

Who plays what?
In the studio, Rick plays guitar and Tim plays Drums/Percussion. Live, we both play midi gear and mash up the mix.

Anyone got any bad habits?
Maybe, maybe not...

What's the band's history so far?
Formed in 1995 as an escape from the egomaniacs prevalent in most local guitar bands, played some gigs locally, but had greater acclaim as far afield as Hong Kong to the East and California to the West - to garner even a tiny amount of interest in our home town would be a boost, but unfortunately people don't seem to 'get it' here. Would like to change that though.

Style and influences?
Electronica - various flavours of. Our biggest influences (the ones which are most likely to wobble their way through the mix) are probably Orbital, Orb, Eat Static, Underworld, Eno, Zappa, Numan, Kraftwerk, although you'll occasionally hear dark riffage occurring borrowing vibes from the likes of Slayer, such is our eclectic taste.

Best moment so far?
Realising we don't fit strictly in a genre and making no effort to do so - it's very liberating.

Worst/most embarrassing moment so far?
Every gig has its moments - there's always one synth or another will break down. Never rely on 60's and 70's analogue gear unless you absolutely have to!

Anything else we should all know about?
We're finishing off our latest album and will have CD's for sale in local independent shops in the near future (also via the web) along with a selection of 4-track specials and possibly some vinyl/dubplate releases for the hardcore.

We've also got a new website!
