Coulton Cup:In the Under 10 Coulton Cup final favourites South Shore collected the trophy but Lytham Juniors pushed them all the way. In the A game, James C gave Lytham the lead against the run of play but Shore replied with strikes by Jack W and Joshua K to give them a 2-1 victory. The B game was another hard fought tussle which ended goalless so Shore collected the cup by an aggregate 2-1 win. Shore’s Lewis H received the Man Of The Match award. Under 9 Colts Cup:Lytham Juniors though enjoyed success in the Under 9 Colts Cup. Strikes by Alex T and Sam W gave them a 2-1 A game victory against Poulton Youth. Emma N, who received the Player of the Match trophy, replied for Poulton. Lytham then won the B contest with a comfortable 3-0 scoreline with Andrew S, Jack W and Joe G all on target which gave then an overall 5-1 win. Under 10 Plate:There was high drama in the Under 10 Plate competition between Blackpool Rangers and Kirkham Juniors. After a goalless A game the B game ended in a 1-1 draw, Declan B on target for Rangers and Elliot S for Kirkham which meant a penalty shootout was required to settle the issue. It looked like the trophy was on its way to Kirkham after they scored with their first two spot kicks and Rangers missing their first two attempts. However, it was Rangers who emerged successful as they then netted three spot kicks with Kirkham failing to score any more which gave Rangers a 3-2 win in the shootout. Under 9 Plate:In the Under 9 Plate final two goals apiece by Lewis W and Jacob S help Fleetwood Gym to a 5-1 A game victory. Jordan H was also on target with Liam S notching the Thornton consolation. The B game was a hard fought affair which ended in a 1-1 draw, Nick H netting for Gym and George M for Thornton so Gym carried off the trophy with a 6-2 aggregate victory. |
