I LOVE BURNLEY TOMSON IS THE BEST

kilby fan
Hopefully Burnley can part with Lafferty for some decent cash during the summer. We all know that the sale is coming. Hopefully, BFC can do some good business and get a couple of players in and stick some cash in the bank. Thanks for everything KL

Peter Tiernan
Clarets are a much better team to watch over the last weeks they are passing more as opposed to ping ponging the ball from one end of the ground to the other, effectively contolling the game.

Glentoran Fan
Kyle should stay at burnley we are going up and a move to scotland would mean hes going down

Hello everyone, the last two games proved what we have been saying for a long time, Mr.Gray had not been pulling his weight during the season. Since his departure we have played entertaining football with goals galore from our other strikers. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch the team this last couple of games, just think what may happen when Lafferty returns after his suspension. Get the cheque book out and keep wade on Burnleys books. Hope to be there on Saturday at W.B.A. to witness another win by the boys. Don,t know if we ned messers Cole and Stead, but if we do land them we wish them the best of luck in the time they are at the club. UP THE CLARETS!!!

Claret 4 Life
I think burnley are an outstanding team and deserve promotion this year. UP THE CLARETS!

COLBEN
Good business, goodbye and farewell to mr. Gray. Damn good business on the clubs part as far as we're concerned, Gray hasn't been pulling his weight lately and we don't think that we are being unkind to him. We wish him well for his future and bear him no grudges for going, especially when he will be on double money. These days unfortunately players cannot afford to be loyal to one club and he has a young family to take care of so best wishes and goodbye. We have our tickets for Coventry and are looking forward to a good game and hopefully a win for us especially if the team play like they did in the Plymouth game. Hope Mr. C. has got someone good lined up as a replacment who is not frightend to have shot at goal.

gray going to charlton. just heard had a bid for ipswich alan lee for £750,000. burnley"s ambition shown again. I bet we dont spend £1 million in january.

well back in saudi after weeks back in the uk .iv seen my team all but 1game the blackpool one .by all acounts thats was a total waste of time .but the rest were quite good games pne we lost after a shocking red card .s weds how we drew that i dont know and we played well .same for b.city played them off the pitch and you could see them steeling it as always happens to us .then the gunners game fantastic game and showed what we could do .then plymouth i dont think iv seen a more one sided game in all the time iv been going to footie games 35 years.my point is we were in the upper jh and the comments that were being made were a joke id love to say stronger but its a joke .i had just watched my team that are down to the bare bones for players play one of the most one sided games ever seen and burnley fans i will call them that were moaning yes moaning .they are no good we havent done anything this and that .just becase we didnt score dosnt mean we were playing rubbish .it takes time and paitance to brake teams down and if a team comes to the turf and wants a point then its up to us to try to sort it .if we went to liverpool or man utd and did that we would be the best thing going .any way 2nd half the same and when we did score it was justice but we still played football .there has been a lot said about the turf let me tell you somthing i go back a long way as do many otheres watching our team winning or looseing we go home and away and all i ask for is my team too give there best there will be days when we are good and also bad .but and this is the bit we need to grasp is that if we get on the backs of our players even when they are playing well all they will do is hoof it up front and thats no playing to our strenghts is it .we have ball players lets use them .one thing oc has done is got us playing football and he given us belive in our team .may be thats why we are better away from home this season we are not getting behind our team at home and most people will tell you they enjouy away games as the attmosphear is much better and i agree .this is going to up set some people but do we care you cannot hide the truth .my last point is if man utd or any other prem team would have played like that every one would have said how well they ran and controlled the game so why carnt our fans see that get behind your team

COLBEN
Fantastic, marvelous, brilliant, what more can you say about the effort, team work and obvious pleasure shown by the team during the Plymouth game. Th elads played excellent entertaining football and dominateed the game from start to finish.Great tohave the beast in goals again, i'm sure the defence felt a lot more confident with him there. The only frustrating thing from the game was the fact that it took so long to score the goal, but what goal from Robbie to win the match and what an excellent cross from Wade. Looking forward to Coventry on Saturday, more of the same please. Well done O.C. and the rest of the training staff keep up the good work.

About the Arsenal game, we were by far the better team and I loved it. The atmosphere was great and Eduardo really impressed me. The way we played and what we put into the game made my birthday (the Tuesday after) the best birthday I've had. I'm only 15 and today (Wednesday 9th) I recieved a card throught he post after I went to school. I came home and my mum gave it me. I opened it and it turned out to be a card signed by ANDY GRAY which put a smile on my face which made me look like a chesire cat. He is my favourite player and when I read that we weren't interested in selling him after being linked with Ipswich, Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Charlton I was chuffed. Apparantly Palace and Charlton have put a £1M bid (Palace) and £1.3M bid (Charlton) in for our top scorer. However the club have dismissed these reports claiming they have only had enquiries about him and no formal offers. Also we've been linked with Celtic's Derek Riordan and Dundee Utd's Barry Robson. Can anyone shed any light on this as I have heard that Cetlic are going to offer Riordan in a player exchange for Lafferty. All the best fellow Clarets! UTC!!!!

COLBEN
What a difference a few days make, watching the lads play against Arsenal was uplifting, enjoyable and satisfying. The boys showed great spirit, resolve and professionalism and skill during the match but the lack of goals on our part, not from lack of effort, but accuracy showed the need for a positive goal scoring striker. Having seen the replays several times we feel that Lafferty's sending off was a bit harsh, it was not a dirty game at all. What would the eventual outgome of the game have been if Lafferty's header had gone in, we feel that we would have and could have won the game. On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable game even though we didn't get the result. Regarding the alleged thousands of empty seats someone needs their eyes testing, of course there was some empty seats but not the thousands that had been qouted, it was good to see the ground so full even the away end and the noise was great. Keep on playing like they did and the missing fans will be back and who knows we may even make the playoffs.

ossy jack
the passion and the noise was brilliant. the ground down ewood is now called the GRAVEYARD

Seasons greetings to all of you and best wishes for the new year. We have been to all the games over the festive period and have been disappointed with the results but heartened by the performances of most of the team, once again they have shown passion, committment. On Tuesday evening against Sheff. Wed.,we were surprised to see John Harley in midfield but once again he proved what a proffessional he is by adapting to the position and playing so well. Surprised by the substitution of Adi to be replaced by the severly out of form S.Jones when he could have played G.O'Connor who having returned to the club would probably played his heart out.We know Gabor is playing well but why not give Beast a run out, alright he boobed against Pool but Gabor has also boobed. On Saturday against Bristol We thought the team played so well that they dominated the game up to the point of the silly far post goal, once again S.Jones came on as sub for the unfortunate Carlisle and proved once again how out of form he is,we only saw him make one cross during the whole time he was on the pitch. Couldn't understand why Elliot was dropped to right back he's not a defender. Anyway looking forward to New Years day when we take on the Tangerines, hope it doesn't turn out to be another damp squid for us like the Preston game, also hope the weather is fine and kind to our supporters who will be stood in the open and subject of both the abusive home fans and the weather, that sand gets everywhere.Keep trying lads the goals will come and with them the results we need. Come the January sales we need to acquire new players and also retain what we have got, the team needs bolstering with new blood not surgery.

john faulkner
i was at saturdays game with preston and although we were beaten you cant really fault the players on commitment.we were on the reciving end of some poor refereeing descisions which could've well changed the result but burnleys defence did look stretched and maybe with all the miles on the clock they've got its no suprise.unsworth though is 110% heart youd think hed been at burnley forever and hats off to him for that.over xmas i think its going to be a struggle without carlisle, duff & caldwell(will we see him?)& with the suspensions to mccann & joey.g coyle will have his work cut out to keep us in touch with those playoff places.one other thing about saturday if hed brought akinbiyi on after mccanns dismissal (even though he brought himself on for the fighting)instead of joey and dropped robbie back a bit we might've had more of a chance of saving a point but im a factory worker not a football manager so......

brian wyld
well we now have our feet back on the ground .after qpr yes it was a bad result .just got back from abroad from working in time for the pne game .that was a game that could up to the sending off could have gone either way they wernt a bad side they caused us problems .but what i want to say is we had just made it 2.2 that was our game to take from there they were down then and would have just hung on .maccan is a fantastic player and we will miss him he should have had a free kick but it just went from one bad tackle to another ending in that one that got him sent off .but they should know better and it killed s off .as for that other idiot he should be fined 6 months wages what the hell was he doing that is going to cost us players in our hardest times over the xmas period that is not exceptable and if that was a pne player doing that on us we would be up in arms and rightly so. throw the book at him .about the game pne got the breaks just at the right time .the hand ball looked clear from were we were .he would also have walked .the goal just before half time just the lift they needed .poor defending just walked through .2nd goal just a ball over the top just walked through .3rd stood off it was coming you could see that .but also 1 up 3 on 1 clean through and we messed it up i said to my mate that could cost us .what i dont get and want to aske others that read and write on here and just want there opionon .when we played it onthe ground we look good and can get passed any one .but why o why do we go to long ball in the air its just not working .i undersatnd there are somtimes you have to do that but play to your players strenghts please .in a way it may just be a good thing for us to come back with a bump as evry one was getting carried away .of corse we want to win them all but this is bfc and as we all know after been following them for so long they will just get you thinking its all going great then the bubble bursts.just one more thing whats the opion on the gate i know its xmas but that was a poor gate yesterday it must be the price it has to be looked at .i am not knock mr oc i think a cahnge was needed but lets have a good long hard look at a few things as always will be at the next game up the clarets

COLBEN
Words from two very frustrated clarets fan:-Went to the big derby today at the turf, what a major disappointment it was, poor refereeing decisions, lack lustre performances by one or two of the Burnley players combined to make it a glorious day for PNE. Poor control of the game by the referee, failing to award a penalty to the clarets in the first minute of the game after a hand ball on the goaline which everybody on the ground saw except him, failure to control and penalise some wild tackling by both teams, failing to do something about both Gallaghers and Mellors brattish behaviour. The red card awarded to Mcann which would not have been necessary if he had dealt with the two previous wild tackles.Must admit didn't see the Gudjonnsen incident which I'm afraid was the icing on stale cake that was Burnleys performance today, after the initial attacks and Burnleys goal during the first half we went to pieces for some reason especially after they got the equaliser, we couldn't string two accurate passes together, we allowed Preston far to much room with the ball throughout the rest of the game. Some Burnley players did not give their all today again and I'm afraid some of them are not up to it. All in all despite the moans I have to say that Preston were the better team today, they came to play football, had a will to win and deserved to go away the victors. In fact the only highlights of the derby today as far as Burnley goes was the half time entertainment and the free clarets scarf, we can and have beaten the best teams in our league but have failed miserably with the teams at the bottom of our league. Well done to Preston on winning today but watch out we'll be after revenge at Deepdale, and COME ON BURNLEY YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS FETTLESS DISPLAY TODAY.

claret youth
Chuffed at Besart and Duff in contention to be back within next 3 month. Would love to see Berisha as I have wanted to from when I saw a clip of him before start of season and I saw Michael Duff down at bookies with Caldwell on Tuesday at match. Looked to be walking ok. Hope they both recover well and are they're back for PNE on 22nd March.

As we write this we are thawing out from the cold having sat through one of the worst displays of football at the Turf. I along with thousands of other Burnley fans expected a walk over and goal fest against tonights opposition QPR., but alas it was not to be. After a magical performance at Wolves at the weekend this show tonight was poor, in fact we made QPR look good especially with the farce that preceded the second goal(its got to be the howler of the year and is destined to be in every football gaffes Dvd's for evermore). Tonight's performance was I hope just a blip, one that won't be repeated on Saturday when we play the new team at the bottom of the league. Still the masochists that we are will be there to see the boys get back on the right track. The O.C. has seen the good side of the team now he's the bad. Tonight we played against a team of tall men against which our three tall men were outnumbered but we persisted in playing high balls into the box instead of keeping the ball on the floor.

As what the board would class a casual claret ( which i am not ) i think the pricing structure for the forthcoming game is fair enough. After all, we want the club to make money. My point is however if they truely want to generate more fans/atmosphere why not drop the price for the re arranged QPR game. It's just before xmas and this would increase the gate in midweek hopefully creating more atmosphere and income. This should not be in place of the Bristol City game but may compensate those casuals and help the club push forward at this critical time. Come on Mr Kilby be creative!

COLBEN
First things first, once again we agree with Brian Wylds comments. We attended Tuedays match against a poor Liecester side which we should have, could have won by mile, but all praise to Leicesters keeper for keeping his side in the game. Our players were playing the game that Burnley have always been noted for,i.e.,passing the ball around with confidence and playing good football not the long ball and other rubbish that we have been playing lately. If this is the way that O.C. likes to play then carry on the good work. It was a good all round effort by the lads on Tuesday except when we fell asleep at the far post when they scored. Much praise of Kyle for his running and passing, hope he scores a goal soon then hopefully he will not be so greedy(not a bad thing). Can,t make it to Wolves on Saturday but will be hopefully watching on t.v. Keep up the good work lads and best of luck to the youth team on Saturday.

yes what a diffrence 2 weeks can make .i for one am glad and have gone on recoerd as saying i wanted sc out .what i dont like is that all the people realy knocking him after hes gone .he did do a good job that cannot be denied .but and the but is he took us as far as he could .and with respect thats what jimmy mullan and stan did take us as far as they could .all three of theese blokes did a good job at the time and we shouldnt forget that .its too early to jump on the band wagon and say oc is the best and the rest of it .lets see what the next 5 months brings .hes got us playing and with confidence and thats what we want to see .but what would have been said if we hadnt won a game there would have been alsorts of junk on here thtas for sure .we now have a run of games were it could shape our season .the window is comming and im sure there will be money to spend he would have been told that when he cme in im sure .it will give us that last push hopfully to at least the play offs .after watching bfc for so maney years you learn to keep your mouth shut untill its all over. been close so many times .lets see what the crowds do over the next couple of home games to see if the fans are going to come back .keep the faith

What a difference a fortnight makes? Nice move by someone at Burnley for the seemingly amazing change in personnel. Massive bravery by BK and BF in making the switch. Now the gunners at home...like a pig in it right now!! - Owen Coyles claret and blue army!! SC thanks again for developing a brilliant team.

FA cup tie with Arsenal could not have been at a better time for me. The tie will be played on either the 5th/6th January and my birthday is on 8th January. So this will be a massive treat for me especially with it being Arsenal at home. OWEN COYLES CLARET AND BLUE ARMY!!!!!!!

Matt, Burnley
Glad cotterill has gone. We have a new manager and at least we have one.

DAVID, BLACKPOOL
Congratulations to the board on making an imaginative appointment. To those who moan about not appointing a 'big' name, all I can say is remember John Bond & Chris Waddle-need I say more! A young, hungry manager with new ideas is just what we need to liven the place up.

COLBEN
At last we have a new manager,we must admit that he was a complete surprise to us , we thought that Mike Newell was the man for the job. Anyway having read of Mr.Coyles history we now feel that he could be the man for the job. We agree with Brian Wylds comments about the same old faces doing the merry go round of managment. It,s a tough game on Saturday so lets hope Mr.C. can inject some new life into the players and encourage them to play with passion and committment and above all their places in the team. Good luck to Mr.C. for the future at the club and hope that we will be at least booking a ticket for the play offs, if not the final at Wembley (hoping that the pitch is in better condition than it was for the dead beats who played on it last night).

brian wyld
on the manager front .i dont think its a bad thing to give the jock a chance .i just hope he does well as every one will say we should have had him or him .in england all the dead wood just goes round and round and its about time some one broke the mould .just fed up of the same lot getting the sack then going down the road for the next job .good on yea bfc for doing somthing diffrent just hope we arnt hearing all the told you so,s later on .now lets get behind this bloke and may be just may be we can make the play off,s

well its been a big week(&a bit )for player power the hull city hoodo. two teams with under pressure managers who with a whole hearted display could've saved lancs dss a bit of work voted with their studded boots to change managers. as a burnley fan im sad to see cotterill go & it seems mr flood is confused hes looking for a replacement who is young ambitious basically who is just like cotterill.surely that would be cotterill?as long as he doesnt go to preston & make mr flood look like a chump by doing there what he wants at the turf.i just hope all these names who will no doubt be in the same hats at burnley, preston;leister & to some extent wigan aren't snapped up leaving the clarets with last dibs.unless stevie-stevie davis is the savior of bfc.Andy payton is in todays telegraph offering to 'look after the forwards'for him (aswell as plugging his dvd (19.99!!!)) oh well its a bit of excitement for the international break.mr flood think hard cotts will take some upgrading! john f,barnoldswick claret.

Well its with mixed emotions that I write this piece, mixed emotions because, Steve Cotterill, a true gentleman has left the club that I have supported for so long. On one hand I'm sorry he's gone, but on the other I suppose it was ineviatable. Perhaps Steve Davies (good luck)on Saturday will pick the players with the ability, determinationand heart as the team, not some of the idle regular team members who got picked just because the gaffer liked them and because of their lack of effort that cost the manager his job. At this stage I hope that S.D. is up to the job and we get a good result on Saturday. Regarding the next manager I hope that he/she has the drive, ambition and personality to take this club to greater things. Finally good luck and best wishes for a happy and prosperous future to Steve Cotterill(as long as he does'nt go to North end)!!!!!.

banbury claret
first off, thanks steve, you gave your all and worked miricals with the budget you had. i wish you all the best. i came up to the Norwich game and though we were poor even though we won. I just think that to move on and to get fans back we need to play a passing game, something Burnley fans are proud and used to. Once again all the best and thank you steve.

kilby fan
Burnley have been hit with some key injuries for the past few games.. our squad isn't uniteds! Granted that the team is snake bit and as the manager, Steve has to take the credit for that. However, Burnley doesn't and probably won't have the cash to be in the premiership. I'd take being a successful and entertaining team in the Championship any day, over a team that gets handled by the likes of Fulham and Birmingham. Realistically, the folks of Burnley want a solid effort. They graft hard to drum up the cash for their tickets. It's only reasonable that the team return the favour! - Come on lads, lets get a few tackles in!!!!

brian wyld
well its happened .so now lets move on .steve davies is not the right man to get the job .fantastic player but not our next manager please .who we get is up to the board there will be plenty of people wanting to be our next manager.bfc is a good club and people want to be here lets not make the mistake of thinking otherwise .so take your time and make sure the right man comes in .i think sat will be a very diffrent game as some of our players havnt done them selves any favours either .they now know when a new manager comes in some of them will be out .and on the other side players who couldnt get in will have a new start .we may even get players playing in there right postions .all we want here is effot if we loose and we have had a go then ok we lost to a better team ect .what i will not except is that our team will go out and just think its ok as the idiots out there will turn up thats not right .iv been going for far to long and keep going both home and away .i can recall not to long ago we were in the 4th div and getting 16000 18000 and when we played blackpool on a new years day 21000 in the 4th div .come on there has to be a problem .when we got ino the 2nd div or champ call it what you like the first 2 seasons we had an av of 16000. it then satrted to tail off may be price may be we didnt buy players to take the last step to the top .sinc then we have gone backwards .and fans have voted with there feet .i just hope some one from the top reads these message boards as we are your life blood .we need that ground at least 75% full to get an attmosphear .the turf isnt a hard place to come and win anymore due to lack of noise thats a fact .i my self am one of a number of people who would rather go to an away game due to the fact the fans are always up for it good or bad .that shouldnt be the case .some wont like this but as a grass roots fan its the facts and who ever reads this will know what is in this is correct .our other problem is we think we have the right to be good as we are burnley and have the history .that can work against us as its the other team thats up for it when they come to the turf .get the team right then the ground .not saying dont do the ground but if we have a great ground then teams will veiw it as there cup final get the team right please .i have been very hard on sc over the past year i dont think he should have been here at the start dont get any pleasure from writing this just want our team to be in and around the play offs. not saying prem be realistic just give us a fighting chance to get into the play offs and we can go from there .we all thought after the first 2 seaons in the champ /2nd div and finishing 7th we were going to move on .it just hasnt happened .lets sort it and sort it now with the right man and give him the backing .we all love our club and want the best for bfc

Some of things I put below about SC were a bit harsh and would like to appologise. It was sad to see him leave although there was a sense of joy because his style of play and tactics were no good. I heard about it when I got in from school and he has left his successor a decent squad in comparison to what SC was left with. It was right time as I and my family and friends didn't think that he could have took us any further. I hope that the board bring in a good replacement who will get us wins and give him some backing both financially and motivationally. Good Luck Stevo with next job! Wish you all the well!

Im sorry to say that after watching Tuesday evenings awful performance Im not suprised about todays events. It was the worst performance I can remember for many years. I would like Mr Flood and his fellow directors to forget all about upgrading the stadium until we have a squad/team playing good enough football to fill the stands. What is the point of spending £20million on the ground when the Jimmy Mc stand was HALF empty on Tuesday evening. Please appoint a manager who you will back in January with a sizable transfer pot and give him a chance to turn things around. Its not time to promote from within Steve Davis is not ready. I think the time has come to be bold and do everything you can to get Nigel Clough to the club. Hang in there things will get better!

well not long back i wrote in with some comments .they were not very nice to mr.sc.i also said i hope proves me wrong he has not .we are going backwards .and before all the do gooders start with there tripe .yes we have a game in hand and it will only take a string of 3 wins to be back up there .thats is not the point .the point is that ok sheef utd was a very good point .but when we play teams at home and that is were 70%of our points should come from and turn in a game like the hull game then there is somthing very very wrong .i am lucky i work abroad and only have to listen to that .2 of my mates who text at the end of every game and dont even sit toghether said of yestrdays game it was the worst they have seen at the turf for a very long time .one of hem has had big bust ups with me as he deffends sc he said last night enough get rid .i have said that sinc last years joke run and havnt forgiven him for that .we are 125 years old and he has the recored on his cv that he has gone the longest without a win .i think everyone at bfc has given him as much time as any other club or set of fans would give a man turning out that sort of performance .thanks but no thanks .his comments after are telling us he dosnt know were to look or to do now .nice bloke but thats not going to win games .a big pitty that carslie are doing ok or we could have got john ward in a good manager .i just wish i didnt have to write this as we would be then doing ok and may be thtas why theres no atmosphear at the turf nothing to sing about .its up to you on the board to do the right thing now

Steve Cotterill has not got one ounze of a brain and tactical awareness of the game called football. However he seems to love vollyball as the ball is in the air more times than a plane. He has taken us as far as he possibly can and he still hasn't got any players on loan. Went to Hull game and we didn't put them under any pressure what so ever. In fact we would have probably had more chance of scoring an own goal. Made up with bad cold, go out to watch the club that I love and end up even worse. For me SC has to go because he spent nearly £1M in August, got £1.2M back for Thomas and Foster and suddenly there's no funds available. And to add to all of the injury woes we are now down to the bare bones in diffence with us losing Unsworth for 3 games. The defence will be as follows: RB: Graham AlexanderCB: Clark CarlisleCB: Stephen Jordan (originally a LB!!)LB: Jon Harley This means that half of the starting XI will be out of position at Leicester game. By Christmas, if our home form carries on like this and we cannot get wins, we could be down near the relegation zone. Also Steve Cotterill has stopped Gray from scoring by playing the long ball up and Blake has been absolute garbage ever since we re-signed him in the summer.

Well what can one say?,travelled along the M62 into Yorkshire on Saturday to visit Sheffield the former steel capitol of Britain. Felt proud to follow a magnificent Fraser Eagle coach which was transporting the Burnley players to the fortress that is Bramall Lane.We managed to park the car near the ground in a secure parking area which cost us the reasonable sum of five whole pounds.Made our way to the ground and parked our bums on two seats of our choice which afforded us a grand view of the sporting arena, the weather was very favourable to the crowd,it was warm and sunny and on the whole it was quite pleasurable. The day was then spoilt by a very lack lustre effort by both teams but in particular ours, if it was not for the agile and acrobatic efforts performed by our no.2 goalie GABOR we could have been made to look extremely poor.We were glad for the full time whistle so we could wend our way home. It was with renewed optimism that we again ventured from our home in the Preston area to the hallowed ground that is the "TURF" to face yet another tykes side, Hull City. The first hint of any forthcmoing gloom was the size of the home crowd, the second hint of forthcoming gloom was the lack of vocal support from the crowd, compared to the usual noise at other games the silence was deafening,in fact the Hull supporters made more noise than we did. The third sign of forthcoming gloom was the way our team played without any passion, committment, belief and skill. Our defence was adequate, midfield non existant and the so called strike force was a joke, there is a complete lack of ball skills by some players who cannot or will not hold a ball and complete an accurate pass, anybody would think that they did train together. What we appear to be exeptionally good at are headers, we can play head the ball all day. The other string to our bow is kick the ball anywhere on the field except to our own men. We persist in long ball play to our "forwards" who are constantly marked out of the game by the giants of defenders most of the other teams seem to have.We were thinking of taking a trip to Leicester next Saturday but after tonights performance won't bother, at least we will save ourselves some money. Just hope that these comments and the fact of not going to Leicester won't affect our chances of getting a ticket for Blackpool, but its only Tuesday and we are gluttons for punishment, who knows!!!!!

Burnley is a strong team and will regane the winning streak

Having been to both the Barnsley and Norwich games we agree with some of the comments made by other claret fans. At Barnsley we dominated the first half with good passing football and a good degree of work and keeness to chase the ball. In the second half after subs it was back to normal, long balls, gaps in defence lack of running by certain players and in the end we were lucky to come away with a draw. In the Norwich game, what a pleasure it was in the opening minutes to see the lads play with such enthusiasm and speed and determination with such a result (thought it was going to be goal fest), wepassed the ball with skill and panache but failed to score more goals .Mahon and Spicer are getting better with every game they play but the midfield is still not quite on song.Im sorry to say that our (main) striker MrG. did not put enough effort into the game against Norwich and he should have been subbed not Lafferty (even though he had recieved a couple of knocks)he was hungry for goals. We are still unsure about Gabor as the No1 goalie, we conceed he has made some good saves but kicking and box domination leaves a lot to be desired. Unsworth, what a good player to bring into the team he should be part of the defence every game and when is Harley going to get a run out instead of Jones who has not been cutting the mustard so far this season. Having a striking pair of Adi and Andy does not work, it has been tried in some of the games this season and doesn't work. Looking forward to the next at home especially if we get off to flying start again and do not sleep for the opening 10 minutes like we did against Ipswich, which cost us dear. Hope Stevie caldwell is fit again for Saturday.

it's alright having a 20 million update on turf moorbut why dont we spend that on players that could help us get to the premiership?

rotherham claret
for the first time this season cotterill played every player in their proper positions in 1st half at barnsley and we played well and looked solid. 2nd half made substitutions played people out of position eg. moves elliot to left kyle midfield instead of replacing ade. changed tactics to long ball again when there were no need to. cotterills tactics starting to cost us dear 8 points arguably dropped this season already. he has to stop doing it. S.C. stop playing people out of position and sitting back when we go in front. we have not got the defence to do it.

To say bfc have now an abundance of stikers it would seem they lack motivation some way or other i think.

as a claret from a far i work in the middle east and live in cheshire .i get to games when i am home .i was at the wba game and thought we played very well .as for the rest iv been on my clarets worl and i just dont understand our manager somtimes .at bcfc we were doing well then he decieds to take the player who is running the ame for us off robbie blake (why)soon as that happened its telling the other team thats it we are happy with the 1.0 we have and once again it back fired .i go back to our home game last season against sunderland .we were so in charge it was a joke what does he do start to make subs (why).it was there problem to change it not ours so wh do it .we then went on our stupid run .yes we have a good team now .this is the best squad we have had fro years .i go back to following burnley way back and it brings grounds like rochdale halifax torquay who remembers hereford in the f.a cup yes we were all there no just for the orient game at the end of the season .so i think i am entitled to my opion.yes mr cottrill has done ok but he has hd the money that not many other managers at our club has had over the recent years .so mr.c this is your lst chance at our club if this season isnt up to scratch then you have to make way for some one else .please prove mr wrong i whould love to be on here again in may eating humble pie .all the best to bfc and most of all the fans who go home and away see you at the pne game when home againbrian wyld

First of all may we echo the sentiments expressed below by"claret youth" to the family of Ray Jones. Saw the"Derby" at the turf, what a good game, would have liked a win, but a draw was a fair result. I would like to know what has happened to our midfield, have they been sold?, are they all injured?, or is it that they are just not good enough?, because at the moment we seem to have a team of strikers and defenders. Went to Sheffield on Tuesday night what a good result and it was great to see Blake score and young Chris Mcann what a good player he is turning out to be. Very tense and subdued atmosphere at Sheffield, the home fans weren't very vocal except to voice their dislike of their chairman. Can't go to the Bristol game on Saturday due to other committments but looking forward to the cup match on Tuesday night at the turf.

May I give my condolnancies to the freinds and family of the promising, young, talent named Ray Jones. I was saddened to hear the loss of the young lad as I was on my way to the QPR game at Turf Moor on Saturday. I would also like to send my up-most support and respect to the players, staff and manager at Queens Park Rangers as I cannot imagine what they are having to go through at the loss of such a talent. RIP and Happy Birthday Ray Jones. God bless.

CC looks a great buy and performed very well at scunthorpe. Have to agree with the comments below regarding our midfield. We need at least 2 midfield players as at the moment we are sadly lacking.

Having attended most of the pre season friendlies we were very optimistic about the forthcoming season this feeling was boosted by the comeback against W.B.A.at the hallowed turf. The new signings seem to have fitted in well with the rest of the lads, but we still have reservations about Gabor and feel nervous when we are under attack by the opposition even though he put in a fine display against the Albion. Our confidence in the team was dented by performance at Grimsby even though we managed a win due to the team efforts, but this win would not have been possible without the magnificent form of Burnley's no. 1 goalkeeper (The Beast). So with renewed optimism We bought our tickets and once again returned to Yorkshire to play the new boys of Scunthorpe who today were the only one's on the pitch 'fit' to wear the Claret and Blue. For the first 15 mins., of the match we were rampant and we thought that it would be only a matter of time before we had a goal fest, but no it was like someone had turned of Burnliey's power switch. Although we conceded two goals we thought that on the whole the defence was good particulary the back four of Unsworth,Duff.Jordan and Carlisle,we thought that Gabor was very shaky and should have been subbbed. The much vaunted forward line of ours was not running on all four cylinders today and the midfield was non existant. It was a very poor performance today and embarrassing to watch, the only good thing to come out of this is in the words of the song 'THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER'.

claret youth
24hrs. That's all it took to fill the place left by Thomas. I hope he can help strengthen that back line because we've always been weak in that area and it great to se SC making some good signings so far this summer. Still need two or three more before window closes. Next up Scunny. I'll be there cheering the lads on. UP THE CLARETS!! ANOTHER WIN AND UP THE TABLE!!!

claret youth
Now Thomas is going we need another defender and I hope SC can agree terms with Djemba-Djemba because he was fantastic on loan last season and the midfield look weak without him and it looks as if we're missing him. Hope we go up, we deserve it and if we can stay fit and avoid injuries and suspensions we'll do well this season. 2pts above Preston, through to next round, Preston out. Great!!!! COME ON U CLARETS!!!!

Scott boylan
The clarets are looking good pre-season i was at the boro game and we were by far the better team i know it is just a friendly but i can see good signs for this season. It will be nice to have cover up front around xmas time something that has held us back for a couple of seasons now. Come on you clarets.

ben
we can do it clarets keep the spirit and we can win games

stewart spencer melbourne aust
It would appear to me in Aust that Burnley could well link up with the youth over here, there are soccer players now of excellent skills joining the game in droves.Such an apparently untapped market of potential players at reasonable prices. There are now millions of players playing in leagues throughouy Australia.

canada calling! the very best to all at turf moor and burnley fans worldwide. i,m speaking now to the club directors, wouldn,t it have been just fantastic to be at least in the playoffs for the clubs 125th anniversary what a season it could have been, should have been. nineteen games without a win just shameful if only we had won what seven of them? are you directors planning to gain promotion to the big time any time soon? you don,t have to be a rocket scientist to know that mr.cotterill has to bring in players who can bang the ball in the back of the net. just before i get out here, about your "early bird" 2007/2008 season ticket promotion which is a wonderful saving including brian kilby,s generous offer. why oh why wouldn,t the club have had the offer on till the end of the season? especially when the last game was at turf moor with a 1pm kick off the office could have been open from 10am till 5pm to give supporters the opportunity to purchase season tickets before and after the match. well there,s always next season
