Price * 1.175

1 = 1 lot of the price. The .175 is 17.5 divided by 100.

Here’s an example:
A webcam costs £29.78 excluding VAT. What is the total including VAT? Work it out by entering these numbers into a calculator: 29.78 x 1.175 =

Have a go yourself:

You find a website advertising a computer for £1695 excluding VAT.

A second website advertises the same computer for £1995 including VAT.

Add the VAT to the price from the first website to work out which is the better buy.

Work out the sum on the calculator then click on ’check’ when you’ve finished.

Go to the next screen to see how to work out VAT using proportion.
