Booking a Holiday
Scorch-io!

You go on the web to find out how hot it's going to be in August, but there's a problem: you're used to Celcius, and all the numbers are in Fahrenheit.

Convert 72°Farenheit to °Celsius

key point
Here's how to convert Fahrenheit to Celcius.

centigrade = 5÷9 (0F - 32)

Using the formula, substitute 72 for °F.
Here's how it looks.

(5 x (72 - 32)) ÷ 9

(5 x 40) ÷ 9

200 ÷ 9

You can use the on-screen
calculator for this last bit.

c=22.2

Round this to the nearest whole number:

72°Fahrenheit = 22°Celsius

Now work some out for yourself.

Solve the bracket first then
multiply the answer by (5/9)
