Using the data from the completed Survey Results spreadsheet, the group need to find out what the 'Top Five' favourite theme park attractions are. They can do this by using a number of different spreadsheet formulas that make mathematical equations seem easy. Remember to always begin with the = sign when entering a formula. TABLE OF FORMULAE
| A | B | C | | =B3+B4 | 8 + 6 | Addition | | =B3-B4 | 8 - 6 | Subtraction | | =B3*C3 | 8 x 1 | Multiplication | | =B3/C3 | 8 รท 1 | Division | | =SUM(B3:B4) | 8 + 6 | Adds contents of cells B3 to B4 | | =B3>B4 | 8 > 6 | Are the cell contents of B3 greater then B4? True or False | | =B4<B3 | 6 < 8 | Are the cell contents of B4 less then B3? True or False | | =IF(B2=7,"OK","Not OK") | | Checks the condition of a cell, gives appropriate results if True or False. | | =AVERAGE(B2:B4) | | Calculates the average of the contents of the cell range B2 to B4 |
Choosing your formula The TOTAL score for each attraction on the Survey Results spreadsheet can be calculated using a spreadsheet formula. Have a look at this section of the spreadsheet.

To calculate the score for the Big Wheel you need to add together the totals for each class: - Class 2B + Class 2C + Class 3A + Class 4B + Class 4D = TOTAL (number of votes from school)
This simple addition equation uses information from cell B2, C2, D2, E2, and F2 to work out the total score for the Big Wheel in cell G2.
