Here is a reminder of some of the most common infections.

Boot sector virus
This virus sits in the part of the hard drive which contains information about the drive structure.

Macro virus
This is one of the most common types of virus. It quickly infects other machines when Word or Excel documents are emailed or shared on a network.

File virus
These viruses attach themselves to program files so once you run the program the virus is transferred to the computer memory.

Trojan Horse
It is not what it seems to be. It might claim to be a cheat to a game, but instead when you run the program it damages your computer.
