Understanding Standards
Put together an action plan

Once you've got your checklist together, you'll be ready to work out an action plan for completing all the work you need to do.

Look again at the table you filled out for Activity 1. Now see if you can identify the following:

  • Which tasks can you do without help?
  • Which tasks will you need help with?
  • Which tasks do you need training in?

Once you know where you need help and training, you can write out an action plan of things you need to do over the year. Doing this before you begin your project will mean that you're fully prepared and the year will run a lot more smoothly.

Tutor/Teacher Support

If you need more examples and guidance on Key Skills standards, you should talk to your tutor/teacher. You can also ask your college for a copy of the QCA Key Skills Standards and Guidance document.
