Compiling A Bibliography
Referencing Internet Sources



You will need the following information to reference a web site in your bibliography:

  • Author
  • Date - this should be written in brackets
  • Title - this should be written in italics
  • Retrieved date - this is the date you viewed the web page
  • Uniform Resource Locator (web address)

The information needs to be presented in the following order:

  • Author (Date), Title, retrieved Date, from Uniform Resource Locator (web address)

This is an example of what your reference entries should look like:

  • James, L. (2001), Where on Earth can I find it?, retrieved 13th March 2003 from http://www.research-education.com
