If you have a look at Becky's essay, you will see that she has included sentences about all four factors in the first two paragraphs. This gives the assignment a good grounding. So far, you have had some practice of
- thinking about the factors;
- writing a sentence about each factor.
The next stage is to read through your sentences checking them again and again for any errors that need correcting. No-one can be expected to write a perfect essay first time. There are often alterations that need to be made. In order to do this, you have to check your work through very carefully. It may be the case that you have to completely re-word the paragraph.
Becky decided to check the opening paragraphs to see if they: - made sense;
- said what she wanted them to say;
- were interesting to read;
- had no spelling mistakes;
- had no mistakes in punctuation;
- mentioned all the factors;
- did not repeat words over and again.
Becky checks that she is happy with her sentences and is satisfied that she has found a way of putting them into a logical order. If you have identified a major factor, you need to make this clear in your first paragraph. Becky's major factor was location, which she has mentioned at the beginning of her essay. Now you have some more thinking to do.
