Steve, an A level student, has been given an assignment by his tutor. The brief says: Investigate the quality of the college’s local environment. Use an appropriate format to present your written work and supporting evidence.  He has a closer look at the brief and jots down his three main tasks.

To make a start, Steve's tutor has given him a list of articles to read. So he takes time out to visit the local library. He finds the articles on the list and reads through them, noting key points as he goes along. Steve finds a number of factors that can affect the local environment, which will require further research. Search engines on the web are useful for
