Head of the family William, and Uncle Pat, have fished all their lives and sons Mark and Stuart have followed on the tradition. All have served their time on the local lifeboat as well.
Their lives revolve around fishing and the weather. They admit that when the forecast comes on, silence falls in the house and even the children know to pay attention.
They have local words to describe local conditions and use boating terms in their everyday language such as describing the bonnet of a car as the bow and something which is wide as being "beamy".
