Best of Luck, Dave. Mountainbiking.ie
Martin Hi! I really enjoyed your video ~ mountain biking is something I have always been interested in! Many years ago I would take my trusty old bike out into the woods and do some very silly but exciting things, this was long before specialized bikes were available. I did take some nasty falls but that was probably down to me! Maybe when I have my fitness back I will give it a go again ~ I'm sure age isn't a barrier!! Keep up the good work Martin. Just watched the video I have been thinking about getting back on my bike and as I'm 50 in a few months time a decent bike will be my present to myself so that I can continue middleage in a healthier state , keep peddling. Gary
Hi i too ride a mountain bike and i feel it gives you a freeness in life nothing but you and youre bike and fresh air. my disipline is freeride and the adrenaline is so good its better than i ever felt doing any thing else in the world in my opinion its should be on tv more but would it get ratings? marxmano2
For such an incredibly fun activity, it is amazing that it is such a specialized sport. I spose that part of the problem is that if you want to do harder technical trails, you'r going to have to have a bike in excess of £500 -- maybe up to £3000. I started just two years ago, and after saving to buy a Specialized FSR, I now regularly hit cross-country trails in Wales at weekends. If you want an indication of just how awe-inspiring serious biking is, buy a DVD of the Red Bull Rampage - a yearly event when the world's best riders get together in Utah and throw themselves off cliffs. An usually survive. Simply put - just get out there and give it a go! You'll be amazed by how much fun it is. Harriieeeeee
You have captured the essence of what I find so wonderful about mountainbiking; the oneness with nature it allows, fitness, adrenaline and mostly, the friendly people. I have met but a handful of unpleasant bikers in my 6 years of mountain biking, compared to the huge fraction of aggressive people that constitutes the general public. Mountain biking seems to offer people a way to expend energy and gain their adrenaline rush in an enjoyable way that harms no one. I just wonder why mountain biking has such a poor public image. I may not be a downhiller - too fast for me, but dirtjumping is just as amazingly much fun, and there are loads of different disciplines of MTB, from street, to trials, from freeride to cross-country, road to downhill, there's something for everyone. If everyone rode their bikes more, and watched TV less, the world would be a much better place. Lastly, get all that dancing/reality rubbish off tv, and put some MTBing on, at least once in a while.
