Or are you bored of retirement already? Well perhaps you should get involved in Adult Learners’ Week, launched nationally on the 9th May. Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest and longest running festival of learning, it aims to encourage more adults to take part in learning activities and events across England. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby or to gain additional qualifications to help advance your career, Adult Learners’ Week can help you find your way back to education. From the 11th May, across the South East, the BBC is celebrating the achievements of those learners nominated for Adult Learners’ Awards. These recognise the commitment, dedication and passion of adult learners brave enough to try something new. Helena Noifeld met some of the nominees like 24 year-old Chris Smith from Ramsgate and 59 year-old Sue Nunn from Gillingham and was inspired by their triumphs over bullying and disability.
