ive had my colonoscopy and they found things took biopsys just waiting now...just be there for her and her son, help her out, support them both, make them smile, give them love and let them know how much you care and that you are there for them both, they will love you all the more for that, take care and be strong, im trying to be, mums having chemo soon im praying for her xxx

mums just been diagnosed with breast cancer and having masectomy soon :o( things arnt going to good here are they, ive still not got my appointment through this hospital sucks mums gota travel to have her treatment or the local hospital in chichester couldnt fit her in untill june how bad is that eh...hope things get better soon...xxx

Debs- you have? thats great news whats happend? im now being sent for a colonoscopy havnt got appointment through yet though hated last one the worst bit is drinking all that gunk its hard to get it all down without being sick yuk. i rang my g.p. yesterday and told her i was worried because my health has been getting worse ive been really sick and dizzy and seeing lights in front a my eyes and loosing my balance etc its quite frighteming when it comes on its getting more regular and i feel rubbish all the time my poor tummy has had enough too fed up of taking so many pills for the symptoms Just want the pain and all else to go away, i keep crying cos i wanna know whats wrong with me, anyways guess what my g.p. said? that stress can cause the dizzy spells and feeling so sick that i wanna vomit etc etc what aload rubbish i know im stressed but it defo isnt that im sure, theres something there not telling me she couldnt get me off the phone quick enough she didnt seem to give a stuff all she said was that the hospital are dealing with me now and basically to sod off wasnt her problem anymore, i rang because im not well at all and have to wait MONTHS before i see the doc at hospital again, youd think my g.p. would of been more helpfull i was affraid and just got told im stressed and to sod off, its like she dont believe me or something, either that or as i said shes not telling me everything, my blood tests comfirm im not well, made me feel great i can tell you,its so embarrasing going to your g.p. realling off loads of different symtoms as it is i used to g in 1 at a time and say just a couple cos i didnt want to sound like a hypocondract till you realise that all the symptoms added together helps make diagnosis but makes you feel like a fool esp when they dont give a dam as long as they get paid what do i matter, so now guess its a long wait for an colonscopy appointment then another few months to get results and see the doc at the hospital, i wanna go private im sick of not knowing anything but i dont have the funds for that, thanks for replying to me debs its nice to be able to let it all out to someone that understands and not be fobbed off again...THANKYOU XXX

im trying to be persistent, ive still not got results from hospital, its been over 6 weeks now, ive counted and ive got over 30 symptoms, makes me sound like a hyprcontriact(cant spell) doesnt it but i know im not well and im sick a waiting around with no news,ive rung hospital and they cant tell me anything over the phone, so i expect ill have to wait another 4 months to see the doctor at the hospital again before i get any results at all then probally she will send me for more tests and ill have to wait another few months AGAIN, its terrible the NHS has got so bad now, ive rung my local G.P. and she is giving me a telephone appointment thursday so im going to ask her if she can try and get hold of my test results for me because there not being sent to my local surgery just held in a huge pile of results at the hospital, thankyou for your message back to me deb i hope you are feeling and doing much better, sending you my love...thankyou xxx

hi deb ive been looking up on colon cancer for the past few weeks now and come across this page i hope you are doing good and feeling better now, i have been unwell for the past couple of years and getting worse, sleeping all time, weight gain, extreme adomal pain, vomiting with pain, change in bowl movements, blood in stool, goo in my stool, im only 32, i have been fobbed off with the ibs thing up till now but i know its something more than that ive had blood tests had to wait 4 months to see a doctor at hospital again to get them results, they were abnormal my cea was 45 i think from what i could take in and remember my memory and concentrations awful too, i had an barium enema 4 weeks ago and im STILL waiting for the good old nhs to tell me my results, they said there not typed up yet bla bla bla and cant tell me anything on phone, its doing my head in with worry especially as ive got all he symptoms of colon cancer i hope to get some peace of mind soon and at last find out whats wrong with me so i can get better, in the mean time i hope you all get well very soon, thanks for listening take care everyone, hug xxx

My mother had bowel cancer and it was traumatic for us all. She recovered, didn't have a colostomy but lost a small part of her bowel - and is considered cured as the 5 year danger period has passed.Get to the GP as soon as you feel something is wrong - your gut instincts. She was told she could have been dead in 14 days had she not reacted quickly!

My friend has been diagnosed with inoperable bowel cancer she is the most caring person I know, worrying about everyone else before herself she amazes me at her bravery - You fight it!! Good luck xx

I had both Ovarian and cervical Cancer last year and am still realling. Now my body is freeking out. I have begun blowing veins in one leg and damn it it pinches but this too I'll get over. Best of luck to you. Donna

I too am a surviver of bowel cancer, diagnosed at the ripe old age of 43. I had all those 'very interesting tests',followed by re-plumbing and 30 weeks of chemo. Despite feeling like hell toward the end, I got through it with the support of my family and friends. You'll win throgh too, just take each day as it comes. Best of luck, we are with you!

"You wouldn't wish it on anyone but it's a relief to know there are others going through the same thing." Well, it was a heartache and relief to see this. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer at 42 (there's a conversation stopper) although there's no real family history. I saw my GP repeatedly last year because I was tired all the time and also gaining weight even though I was eating healthily, not drinking at all and exercising. It was even suggested that I might be starting my menopause early. Although I was tested for thyroid function, I wasn't tested for anaemia, and it wasn't until I went for a 'well woman check' through my firm's health provider that things began moving and I was diagnosed in January, following a lot of 'interesting' tests. I've had a bowel resection and lymph nodes removed; I start my first chemotherapy session today. I think I probably had the condition developing for years (it can start and stop in the early stages), but it had been dismissed as IBS. It's something which really does need to be taken more seriously - by the public as well as GPs. I'll be thinking of you, Debbie - good luck!

Debbie, l also had bowel Cancer at the age of 28 and did have symptoms before diagnosis which were also ignored by my last G.P. l have been told l have a faulty gene and all my siblings have also been tested. This testing was only done after l had gone on to get womb cancer twenty years later. l am now 48 years of age. l am currently free of cancer. And feel really well. l wish well with all your treatment Debbie and keep positive it really helps.

I am a friend of Debbie and to see how poorly Debbie has been was hard to see, she knew something was not right and it was an on going battle which Debbie and her husband Simon fought together.
