Ode to an Old Woman by Val Ford Worn-out promises and empty words, Unspoken silences, Fairy-tales, ever confused with dreams, Still undreamt in yesterday's time. Ah, woman! You white and wrinkled old woman! Your smile struggles to soar, While the young girl within you dreams of yesterdays. When your purity shone from within you, And you struggled with hot desires. You dream once more of yesterdays, Yesterdays without tomorrows. Within your head, those devil's tongues, Make yesterday's dreams forgot.. Ah Woman, it is tomorrow. Tomorrow, empty except for your dreams.. For today's and tomorrow's dreams were ended yesterday. submitted: 09/10/03
