Constable Simon Crowcroft says the toilets at Victoria Park, along the Esplanade were closed in order to save the parish money. Speaking on BBC Radio Jersey's Talkback programme, Constable Crowcroft said he'd like to see the use of the facilities changed to a cafe or a restaurant.
We want to know what you think about the closure of the toilets and there proposed new use, we also want to know what you else think they could be used for. | AM, Jersey | | There are toilets opposite, so there is no problem there. I think it is a good idea and the same has been very successful at St Aubin. | | | Ann, St Lawrence | | I think it would be a great shame to get rid of these toilets, not only are they essential when any events are held there but also they are an excellent and lovely showcase of times past, why do we always have to get rid of the good things in Jersey and replace them with naff.! | | | Helen, Jersey | | As a st helier rate payer I rarely use the toilets in my parish. The only public toilets my family and I use tend to be the ones at st brelades bay. But my mother as a st brelades rate payer only ever uses the st helier toilets. If the cost of upkeeping the toilets was spread evenly island wide it would a much fairer system. As you never know where and when you will need to go. | | | Ben, Northampton | | "Welcome to the West Park Restaurant. Right next to the Esplanade. Formerly a public loo." Hmmmmmmm......................... not whetting my appetite. | | | William, Sydney Australia | | Great idea a resturant. Just book a private cubicle | |
