Thank God for the Jersey Democratic Alliance and the Consumer Council actually doing something for the people of Jersey! The one criticism of the rally would be that there should have been more political figures on the platform. I know finding politicians who kept their word on GST is not exactly easy but...the JDA led the way on telling the truth about this regressive tax, also in putting up alternatives for exploration. Why weren't they allowed on the platform - when Constable Crowcroft was? It makes no sense!!!! Still, really positive to see so many people also taking the chance to sign up for the JDA, realising that the Alliance has been putting forward the real facts all along. Shame they hadn't woken up at the last election - but better late than never! Roll on 2008!

Sue, St. Helier
I was in the Royal Square on Saturday, there were people of ALL ages, ALL back-grounds with the same message for the Council of Ministers, listen to us the people, prove to us that you have put your own house in order, curtailed your reckless spending, made all your departments more efficient before coming to us for more of our hard earned money. Contrary to popular belief, the ordinary people of Jersey do not have bottomless pockets into which politians can dip their fingers when they cannot balance the books.
