More on Jersey Live 2009

The line-up for this years Jersey Live festival is fast coming together with another three acts announced.

Last year Jersey Live went from two to three stages with the launch of the Cream Tease tent - this year it goes up to five stages on each day.

As well as the main stage and dance arena, French music magazine Les Inrockuptibles present a third live stage. This will be alongside the local Cream Tease tent and the VIP stage in the form of the Spieigel Tent.

The Kooks

Earlier this week Jersey Live added three more acts to its line-up.

LA-based grim-punk outfit Spinnerette, Irish neo-shoegazers Fight Like Apes and Australian rockers The Temper Trap. They will all play the main stage on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Festival goers can also look forward to a new stage called Les inRock – sponsored by cult French magazine Les Inrockuptibles.

The first act for this stage has been announced in the form of Naive New Beaters, a French multi-genre outfit who will be taking the first of six slots on the Saturday.

Also announced are firey punk-folker, Frank Turner and organ driven electro-funksters Golden Silvers both playing the main stage on Saturday.

Positiv’s Warren Holt said: “I think we have bands from 8 different countries now and Warren and I have been trying to polish up on our French.

“I heard about The Temper Trap from one of the Glastonbury organisers and I am really pleased to get them.

“It is really exciting this year. We are trying to diversify so people can see intimate gigs as well as the main acts.”

The latest acts will join electro-popsters the CasioKids, The Boxer Rebellion and Jersey Battle of the Bands winners Brave Yesterday, The Dirty Aces, Black Stats and Marvel.

@RyanCheck out Crowns - a London based, indie-foklk band with a Jersey member. www.myspace.com/crownsbandThey recently supported the Paddingtons in London.peace

Ryan (Host)
Jonathan - different stages. The bands that won the Battle of the Bands are playing the main stage as their prize. But they also get to play later in the day on the Cream Tease stage - the local stage.

There are also some main stage acts playing during daylight who will be given higher billing on another stage so they can play to a later crowd at night.

Jonathan B.
Why are some Bands playing twice????????????????????

Ryan (Host)
I'll make sure the suggestions get passed on to the JL team.

I'll be playing a track by Crowne on BBC Jersey Introducing this Saturday and will check out the Cassettes - haven't heard of them before.

Mark
@ Ryan Ok I see The Centeniers are playing now and Empty 7, but Crowne & The Light Streams (Jersey UK)aren't on the list???

John
I agree with Mark, there are some other local bands that aren't getting the oportunity to play. The organisers did'nt do a good job of advertising for local bands. Unless you know some one how do you get to know about playing at Jersey Live . I think the Cassettes are a cool band and Crowne they won the 103 battle of the bands Also Off limits are good too

Ryan (Host)
Mark, if you list the bands you'd like to see play from Jersey I'll pass it on to the Jersey Live organisers - it isn't just the main stage this year - there will also be a numebr of Jersey bands playing the Cream Teas tent.

Mark
I would like to see the Manic Street Preachers and again I think there are a few better local Bands that aren't getting the chance to play this year.
