Nick is originally from Sheffield where he played bass & guitar in bands “Rollin’ Thunder” and “the Harbour Kings” who were signed to Flick Knife & Fire Records. Previous claims to fame include playing Glasonbury in the 80’s before the Shamen and supporting The Replacements, Green on Red, Lone Justice & American Music Club in the UK. He came to Jersey in 1989 and soon met up with Warren who was then playing in “North of Heaven” with famed Jersey rock brothers “the Hingston’s”. Nick and Warren have played together in various bands (Out of the Blue, Bucket Full of Brains, Collectable Gems, The Gems & Capt. Avenger) with various drummers until Josh from local rock legends “Rhythm Collision” joined them. Josh did a stint in Coventry where he played drums in “Visions of Change” with the original guitarist from punk band “Conflict”. Josh had a celebrity flatmate Dave Grohl when his band “Scream” came to the UK to play some dates. He also played drums for local band, the “Medors” and guitar with “Nameless”. Both the Gems and Rhythm Collision were lucky enough to support Mega City Four few years back when they came to Jersey for a couple of gigs at the Royal Hotel and the Hautlians (RIP). Repeater would describe their sound as “melodic rock” and they write all their own material. Current favourites include “Ten Mile Beach”, Jersey’s summer anthem and the soon to be released “For the Weekend” otherwise know as the drinking song. A few classic cover versions are thrown into the live set with the crowd pleaser being the Clash’s “bank robber” with a ska twist.
