My family heritage is very rich on the IOM, my ancestors were deemsters on the island for years and I know that there are monuments on the island of Illiam Dhone the Manx patriot another ancestor of mine. I have plans of visiting the island and recovering more of my family history myself so that my children will take pride in their ancestry. It looks so beautiful, I can't wait! I still have a Key Fob from a car I rented in Douglas for a weekend. I slipped the car rental agent a Quid, and he let me keep it! Photo on www.flickr.com/photos/dr-engineer-001

Beautiful photos! Remind me of when I visited there several times in the early '60s, while attached to the U.S. Global Office of Naval Research in London. Sometimes I took the Steam Packet out of Liverpool, other times I flew from London.
