I'm Lucy Hester, your Inside Out reporter working alongside Jamie Coulson. I’m a Leeds girl through and through, and I've been lucky enough to have spent most of my life in Yorkshire. I've worked my way through BBC local radio and loved it. My reports took me as far afield as the Malaysian jungle - believe me, checking your hammock for snakes and scorpions before climbing into an outdoor bed at night really puts things in perspective! I now find myself in a dream job on Inside Out. We're covering the best stories Yorkshire and Lincolnshire has to offer. Out of hours Out of office hours, I like a challenge. | | Lucy will be enjoying a mountain adventure soon |
I recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak in Africa. Thankfully altitude sickness didn’t get the better of me. Covering Inside Out's story on mountain rescue came in handy for that adventure. Closer to home, I get out into the Dales and the North Yorks Moors whenever I can. My grandparents took me walking there as a child, and I miss it if I’m away too long. I'm an avid skier and (very) amateur snowboarder! I love running and horse-riding. And I’m a Leeds Utd fan - a basic requirement in my family. But on a Wednesday at 7.30pm you’ll find me on BBC One, bringing you surprising stories from familiar places on Inside Out. The new series promises to be just as surprising - so see you on Mondays! Also - meet reporter Nicola Rees |
