David Whiteley | | David Whiteley gets inside your stories |
Hello I'm David Whiteley and I present Inside Out in the East.
Now I've been working on Inside Out for some years now, and in my humble opinion, there's nothing quite like it on TV! Our range of stories is so vast, not just in a series, but in just half an hour.
Every week we bring you three surprising stories from where you live. And they really are surprising! If they're not, they don't make the programme!
The next two series promise to be cracking! We have investigative stories, we're uncovering historical gems, blowing the dust off old archive films, and of course we have our usual eclectic mix of the weird and wonderful.
An Essex boy
I was unleashed on the unsuspecting world on May 4, 1977 at a maternity unit in Essex, and this part of the England has always been my home. | | Fishy business! David Whiteley in action on location |
So working for Inside Out here is fantastic because I know the patch, I grew up here.
I started out in commercial radio as a reporter and news reader when I was 18, and then moved onto BBC Essex.
Then the TV thing started.
I became a reporter for BBC Look East, soon discovering that telly is an art form. I fell in love with the job.
Then I landed my dream job at the start of 2003, presenting Inside Out! I'm also a producer on the programme.
Back for the autumn
We're back on air in September... so get ready for an explosive series! | | Join David Whiteley for Inside Out East or drop him an email |
I'm going wreck diving, meeting a record breaking eater, looking through old archives, going back to Gambia, to name but a few.
The region we cover is the largest geographically in the BBC, so you can drive for three or four hours and still be in the patch.
There's a lot of ground to cover and our team's doing it.
I won't give anymore away now
But don't forget, we love to hear from you, so drop me an email via the website.
