Yorkshire & LincolnshireYou are in: Inside Out > Yorkshire & Lincolnshire > Nicola Rees ![]() Nicola Rees Nicola ReesHi there, I’m Nicola Rees, thanks for watching me on Inside Out in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Since I started this job in 2005 I’ve worked on some fantastic local stories. I’ve flown with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Paramedics, I’ve Bobsleighed in Austria with Britain’s fastest woman on ice, and I’ve even learnt to drive a 2 Litre Westfield in the UK’s most challenging uphill race, the Harewood Hillclimb. You can probably see why I never complain about coming to work! My background is journalism. I trained at the University of Central Lancashire and then went on to work as a Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio Leeds. Over the last few years I’ve worked on some big news stories in Yorkshire. I’ve carried out investigations into cases of abuse in care homes in West Yorkshire, I’ve reported live from the scene of accidents and murders, and I’ve had exclusive access to Police raids and undercover operations. Award winningIn 2006 I was crowned "BBC Local Radio Reporter of the Year" and in 2008 my work investigating a property company in Leeds was recognised when BBC Inside Out in Yorkshire won the Royal Television Society’s "Programme of the Year" award. I'm always on the look out for the next big story, so if you have any suggestions about subjects you think we should be covering, please get in touch. ![]() Success at the RTS awards When I’m not busy researching stories and interviewing people I like being outdoors, whether it’s walking my dog on Otley Chevin or running along the Meanwood Valley Trail in Leeds.
This latest series of Inside Out in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire is as exciting as ever, and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoy working on it. See you Wednesdays at 7.30pm. last updated: 28/11/2008 at 15:30 You are in: Inside Out > Yorkshire & Lincolnshire > Nicola Rees |
