Comment: From Rachel (Age 19) , Southend-On-Sea: I live in a town where we have exactly the same problems between groups, and I respect what she's saying. However, she needs to step back and think about what she's saying for a minute - "I don't like to be stereotyped" then 30 seconds later uses the term "townies" to describe someone.
Clara : Dayton, Ohio (age 13) No-one should be judged by the way they dress. Charlotte: Cambridge, UK Yeah that's so true! I think this video is really good, I'm not a townie, but I don't dress as you do, but I don't think you should get the attitude you do for being yourself. Unique is good, if we all dressed the same and looked the same we wouldn't be able to express our individuality and diversity. |
dare 2B Different. By Samantha Thomson. Please tell us about yourself.
I'm 14, almost 15. I like listening to music, and hanging out with all my friends in Queen's Gardens.
I live in Bransholme with my parents, my sister and my Grandma.
What's your story about?
My story is about being alternative and where I hang around. The music I listen to, my friends, and how people at school and out of school react to the way I am. Why did you choose to tell this particular story?
I chose to tell this story because it's something that I feel strongly about. I want people to understand how hard it can be to dress differently, and to have different opinions.
I have really enjoyed doing these workshops and making my digital story, and would love to do it again.
I think it's been a brilliant experience. Play film
