Digital Story

Memories by Pauline Carney

Tell us about yourself:
Having had a stroke I was virtually a vegetable for a few years. Then I pulled myself together and went around the world on cruises, and I now help people cope with strokes.

What’s your story about?
My story is about my years in the wilderness, then I got an electric buggy and the world opened up for me. Now when I meet stroke people I say, "never give up" because the world is your oyster and you can do it.

Why did you choose to tell this particular story?
To give hope to victims of stroke.

Any additional comments?
I am sixty-five and feel I still have a lot to offer.
