Seven Jobs for seven days

Plan your gardening week with our list of jobs.

Seven Jobs For Seven Days

Each week on BBC Radio Humberside's Great Outdoors programme, our resident gardening expert, Doug Stewart, gives you seven jobs for seven days to help keep your garden in tip top condition.

Week commencing 22 March

1. Prune out 1/3 of the coloured stems on dogwoods, and other winter stems.

2. Make sure you have your seed order in.

3. Cut out dead wood on trees and shrubs.

4. Check fences and sheds for wind damage.

5. Take cuttings of over-wintered plants and houseplants for bedding out in the summer.

6. Wake the garden up with an organic feed, I use pelleted chicken manure.

7. Sit out and enjoy the sun!
