To celebrate the BBC Electric Proms we equipped three respected local acts with nothing more than a mic and a rather smart backdrop, for some intimate acoustic sessions. You can watch them here.
Steve Reed
Steve Reed
Great melodies, intricate guitar playing and an unashamed penchant for love songs make Steve stand out. He's been gigging for a number of years and always impresses at low-key shows. You can hear Steve regularly on BBC Radio Humberside's late licence with David Reeves as well as on BBC Raw Talent.
John Copley
John Copley
Raw Talent was blown away by John's lyrics and understated, but intense, live performances at the Linnet and Lark's acoustic Sesh night. His hard edged guitar style and flamenco-speed strumming characterise his treatment of famous songs and his own compositions.
The Favours
The Favours
One of twelve new UK bands headlining at the BBC's Electric Proms in October at the Camden barfly. They're usually plugged in for a full-on electric barrage, but their songwriting and harmonies came through without a distortion pedal in sight.
