I was 8 years old when war was declared living with my parents William Richard and Doris Ada in Solihull. They owned a Cycle business at that time which was closed down when my father began working for The Rover Company in Coventry. At that point we moved to live in Earlswood and my father cycled to Coventry each day.
Well this starts my 'war memories'. Can anyone please tell me something about The Rover Company at that time and the date we were all transferred to Barnoldswick? Any other information about life in this area during those years would be most helpful.
