I have always been interested in the second world war because it is one of the most recent and you still have people around that survived it. Also, it was a time of great technological change for warfare. The weapons changed, tacktics changed, planes got faster and could carry more bombs, submarines were invented and underwater mines were used.

My Grandard was one of the desert rats as well, in tubrook, Egypt. He was part of the Royal core of signals and was with the British expeditionary team.

I would be very interested to find out more about this battle and other desert rats in my Grandad's regiment.
