I am a 63 year old retired Personnel Manager, with a keen interest in family history and in particular those family members who served in the world wars.
I had a cousin who served as a air gunner-wireless operator in the RAFVR and was killed in an aircrash in 1942.
My late uncle served as a Sgt with the RAOC in N.Africa and Italy and the UK 1939-1946.
My wifes late uncle served as a Sgt with 111th bn RA in N.Africa,Sicily,Italy,Greece and Yugoslavia 1939-1946.
Other family members served and sometimes died in other conflicts.
