About the contributor

As I was very young at the start of the war I can always remember lots of images of those times and I have always been interested in later life to find out what was actually happening at the time.
We also grew up thinking that war was the normal state of things and it was hard to imagine what peace would be like, e.g. what would the 'News' be about on the wireless.
I had assumed that news broadcasts would end.
I don't think I have ever taken 'peace and prosperity ' for granted ever since.
