I was born in Hyde, Cheshire, in 1957, the son of a Yugoslav couple who came to Britain in 1948 in the aftermath of the war.
Regarding history, I have been interested in the subject for as long as I can remember and studied it at O level, A level and at university.
I have written a number of books and pamphlets on the history of the Tameside area — Dukinfield in particular — and on Yugoslav resistance in the Second World War.
At the moment I am working as a sub-editor for an evening newspaper.
