My name is Robert Freeman, I was born and raised in California but came to the UK in 1978 and have continued to live here since. I am now a British Citizen (Dual National), am married to a British lady for 15 years and we have a 13-year old son. My interest in this website is due to my father, Ticker Freeman, having participated in WW2 as an entertainer to the Allied Forces along with Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby etc at the invitation of General Omar N. Bradley, Commander of the European Theatre under Eisenhower. In additon, my uncle (dad's brother) fought in the war in Europe and was killed, sadly & ironically 1 week after VE-Day, and is buried in a US war cemetery in Germany.

I discovered a diary of my Father's experiences during this episode of his life after he died 7 years ago, and have posted a brief overview of this on the WW2 family stories website.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone who may know anything about these events, or knows someone who may have actually been there when these shows were put on during the war.
