I work at Hythe public library in Kent, and was given the task of writing the story of Mr. George Knott's time with the Eastern Mediterranean Fleet during WWII.
I have always had a keen interest in both world wars as one of my Grandfathers' was wounded at Ypres in WWI, and the other was a gunner, killed at El Alamein, by a Stuka in WWII.
I have found Mr. Knott's story both moving and interesting and I wonder if many seventeen year olds today would stand up to so much?
It has been a pleasure to write his story.
Ms. Suzanne Jenner.
