Hi, I am currently re-searching my family history and in connection with WWII, my grandfather (Eric Cecil George Castle) wrote a short piece for me on his life at the outset of WWII in Dover, for a school project i did at junior school some 30 years ago, i have preserved this as a treasured possesion ever since, especially as he passed away only a couple of years later. I have therefore chosen to include this short piece 'in his own words', as i think he would have approved, on the BBC's WWII people's war site. In his own words, "not long after these events i went to sea", we believe as a medical orderly on board the HMS Loosestrife, however we are currently awaiting the MOD to confirm this by suppling his service records, this they advise might be quite a wait.

Should you wish, you may view my family tree, at: http://www.zen16514.zen.co.uk/
