My name is Paul Mitchell and the reason I am interested in WWII is that I am ex ACC (served 3 years)and my father who is an WWII veteran.

The reason I joined this site is twofold. One is to post some of my father’s war memories and secondly to maybe find out some more information. My fathers name is Thomas Heald Mitchell, he was born at Bolsover on 13 June 1919.

My father served with 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards and 56 Reconnaissance Regiment.
