Newry Branch Library is situated on 79 Hill Street, Newry and this building opened its doors to the public in January 1987. Since then the library has remained a hive of activity for the local community, with services including books, tapes, videos, DVD's and CD's available for hire. Free Internet access is also available to library members.
The library is also a meeting place for local groups and school children who avail of the spacious surroundings and comfortable furniture.
The public library movement in Newry reaches back to 1770, when a circulating library was introduced to the town. Since then the tradition has flourished generation after generation making Newry Branch Library a busy and thriving centre for knowledge and leisure.
